The following new year’s resolutions support a healthy lifestyle and are sponsored by the all-new Turbo10 program from our friends at Nutrisystem.
Here we are, a little over a week from February. And here I am, about 10 days from my next birthday. As I’ve gotten older, I don’t think I’ve gotten any wiser, necessarily, but I like to think that I have learned a few things. One thing I’ve learned: I set new year’s resolutions exactly the same way I set all my resolutions – plopped on top of a huge to-do pile.
But this year, something is different. Something has changed in my worldview. It could be because Thomas recently lost weight. It could be because I don’t like being the “fattest” person in all our pictures. It could be because I realized I’d rather run around with my kids than sit and watch. Whatever the difference, this year, getting healthy and losing weight has moved to the tippy-top of the to-do pile, and I’m already seeing the changes.
As a woman, I’ve been on and off diets since I was 9. I’ve used supplements, diet fads, and even stopped eating a time or two. A few of my diet plans were healthy, but I always slid back to sweets, fried foods and sugary drinks. So when I tell you that my new year’s resolution is weight loss, I find myself fighting the urge to roll my own eyes. I mean, really? Again?
So what’s changed?
Weight Loss Motivation
My husband, Thomas, is beautiful. But when we returned from our trip to St. Croix last May, he saw the pictures and didn’t like how he looked. Plus, his back was hurting him on a regular basis, and the doctor said lose weight or face surgery. So, he got serious. He completely changed his eating habits and went full-throttle on exercise. He was a whirling dervish! He lost 50 pounds, and it was hard work.
Now, I see all the new pictures, from Christmas and our subsequent trip over New Year’s, and I don’t like what I see, either. Plus, I know I’m getting older, and if I don’t start (over) now, the adverse effects on my body and overall health will multiply. And, now that I’m back in an office job, I’m more sedentary than I had been, and I see all those reports about how bad sitting all day is for you. So…..
Finally, there’s my kids. I want to see them start school, play sports, learn dance, get their first broken heart, discover how awesome sleep really is, and everything else. I don’t want to think I only have 20 years left; I’m shooting for at least 50 more!
Plan (with a little help from Nutrisystem Turbo10)
I took some of the first steps and have changed up my diet. It ain’t easy. It is nice, however, to have someone do all the thinking and planning for you, just like they do in the all-new Turbo10 from Nutrisystem. You can lose up to 10 pounds and 5 inches in your first month. Whaaaat?
What’s the story? Is it for real?
Turbo10 is a 4-week program (yes, we’re almost done with 4 weeks of this new year) that includes breakfast, lunch, dinner AND snacks, delivered right to your door. Plus, you get all-new Turboshakes™, which are packed with protein PLUS probiotics to help support digestive health and bust belly bloat. AND there’s NutriCrush® shakes to help crush hunger.
The reality is, with Turbo10, you can’t go hungry. If you’re worried that getting healthy means starving or giving up great taste, it’s not true! And they have plans styled for vegetarians and diabetics.
Happy New Year and happy, healthy living for you!
