The following review is a collaboration with KidStuff PR on behalf of Sevi Toys, and we received a complimentary airport. No other compensation was received, and all opinions are my own.
Earlier this year, we traveled to St. Croix for my sister’s wedding. Some of you have heard me say how the airplane ride was almost as fascinating to our girls as the actual trip on the island. They’d seen airplanes before, but it was their very first time riding. Since our return, they’ve frequently told tales about going, along with their eagerness to ride in an airplane again. Soon. Today, if possible. So, their dad and I were thrilled when we were asked to review the Play Set Airport from the Sevi collection. Now, they have all the adventures they want, right in our living room! There’s lots of other playsets to enjoy, so come check them out!
Learning through Play with Sevi
Our girls started Pre-K this morning at a local Montessori school. And if you know anything about my learning philosophy, you know that I think most of it is done through play in the early years. Kids learn imagination and creativity, but they also work on motor skills, focus and concentration, their patience as well as their analytical thinking. And that’s why I instantly fell in love with the 2015 collection from Sevi, known as Europe’s oldest wooden toymaker. But this year, they are branching out in a big way.
We were invited to review one of the new Eco-Friendly playsets, made with newly designed SOFT materials that are non-toxic and eco-friendly. And since Leelou, the 3 year old, still likes to test stuff out by putting it in her mouth, this was super comforting for me. There are four different playsets, and as you already know, we went with the Airport. You pop the shapes out of the sheet and put together 61 different pieces. The Airport has a tarmac, planes, passengers and pilots.
Now, I’m going to tell you up front, and Sevi agrees with me, parents are going to need to pitch in with the initial build of the soft sets. For our part, we put together the tarmac and laid the foundation of the buildings, but once the girls took over, they just let their imagination run wild.
I have now watched the girls play with this airport for nearly a week, and I can honestly say, they’ve developed their own little community. They tell stories about people loading up to go to St. Croix, or I’ve heard them race the planes on the tarmac. They’ve also used the tarmac for racing cars, so you can honestly say, the playset has many uses!
